Dr. Jane Hollinger Clark is a retired college professor of composition, literature, linguistics, and journalism who taught at both a major northeastern university and a small private liberal arts college. She served as a site director for the National Writing Project in Berkeley, California, located at Pennsylvania State University, Harrisburg.

Before entering academia, Jane worked as a journalist, covering state and federal legislation for the Associated Press and Radio Pennsylvania State Network, and served as news director for Radio Pennsylvania.

She holds a Ph.D. in English with a specialty in narrative theory. Her interdisciplinary research focuses on women and silence and is grounded in sociology, anthropology, philosophy, religious studies, literature, and composition.

Dr. Clark has facilitated numerous writing groups centered on women and voice for social service agencies and churches, led private online writing groups, and conducted workshops for survivors of childhood sexual abuse.

Her publications include Story Carrier: A Collection of Tales of the Disappeared (Writing Brave Press, 2024) and Storying Silence: A Writing Workbook to Restore Your Voice and Reclaim Your Sovereignty (2025).

Now retired from full-time teaching, Jane devotes her time to facilitating writing workshops, working with spiritual companions, helping women reclaim their voices, traveling, and gardening with her husband near the Appalachian Forest in Pennsylvania.
